Sofia Mayor Fandakova and Minister of Tourism Angelkova at the Vienna Ball at the Marinela Hotel
Over 350 guests came to the 19th edition of the Vienna Ball in the Sofia Hall of the Marinela Hotel. Every year, the charity event brings together diplomats and secular figures under the patronage of the Ambassador of Austria to Bulgaria, Her Excellency Andrea Vike.
As the host of the ball, the mayor of Sofia – Yordanka Fandakova, was welcomed by the hotel’s general manager – Deyan Dyankov.
Chef Gottfried Gansterer and dance master Adi Lozancic arrived especially for the event. The famous chef charmed the guests with exquisite dishes. At midnight, everyone danced in the quadrille under the guidance of the dance master.
Waltzes are the musical message of Vienna in over 30 capitals around the world, dedicating one evening in the year to Austrian classics. Traditionally, the first dance is of the debutants – this year, it was Niya and Georgi. They opened the Vienna Ball with incredible grace and elegant performance. In the Sofia Hall of the Marinela Hotel, the stars of the Musical Theater, ballet dancers from the Stara Zagora Opera, and dancers from Vaya Dance Studio directed by Prof. Rumen Neykov enchanted the guests.
The funds raised from the evening will be used to support the University Hospital of Orthopedics in Sofia “Prof. B. Boychev” and the Association “Autism Association”.
